As well as publication day for The Coal Miner’s Son, this week I am ‘Chindi Author of the Week.’ Pop over to the Chindi author Website and check out the questions and answers  about me and my writing.

Publication day has finally arrived for The Coal Miner’s Son, but you know what, I’m feeling a little flat. What was I expecting this morning? Fireworks or what? I’m not sure. All I know is that the run up to this day has been hectic with book signing, packing them up and posting, and lots of marketing.

However, the sun is shining and life looks good. Five years ago today at this time I was alone in a Bucharest hospital waiting for my husband to arrive and waiting for an operation on my broken hip. A lot has changed in those five years and that includes me, I am no longer the same person.

Although today feels flat I’m proud of what I’ve achieved in publishing two books that readers seem to love and wish that my late mum and sister were both here to share this  moment with me.

So away with the gloom and let’s embrace The Coal Miner’s Son starting with fizz this evening and an online launch party on Facebook. Hope as many of you as possible can be here.

Hi Everyone

Well what an exciting week this has been. What with the overwhelming response for pre-orders on Amazon, signed paperbacks, Facebook shares and Retweets on Twitter, you’d think that was enough excitement for anyone. However, not in my case…

On Tuesday it was my husband’s 60th birthday so we celebrated with family at a lovely Indian Restaurant and that next Wednesday is our Silver Wedding and a week Sunday my birthday. Exciting celebrations.

Yesterday I discovered that I was a winner with Hedgehog Press Prickly Shorts Competition  which means that my fictional Victorian story about the Montefoires will be published later this year, and I also discovered that an internal challenge through Hedgehog also brought results for me with a winning poem, again to be published later this year.

And that it seems was still not enough excitement. I decided to reduce the price of House of Grace on Kindle to 99p/99c for a few days to celebrate both the launch of The Coal Miner’s Son and the third anniversary of House of Grace.

Next week is going to be equally busy and exciting with the launch of The Coal Miner’s Son on Monday 9th March 2020. I am having an online launch on Facebook so if you’re on Facebook why not come and join in the fun? There will be guest authors and lots of prizes.

What an exciting week it’s going to be.

The downside was hearing a couple of days ago that the London Book Fair had been cancelled, and of course I quite understand the reasoning behind it, and then I heard earlier today that the Writers’ Summit I was to attend has also been cancelled. This was to be my first time at the London Book Fair but obviously not meant to be. Hopefully I will get there in 2021.
